Here at the Meg Morton HQ, Vicky and I adore this time of the year, when the trees are bursting back into life and the countryside surrounding our pretty studio looks stunningly vibrant.
It’s been the perfect time to launch our fresh, new fabric designs, including Chalbury, Jhansi, Starlight, Starfall, Posh Spots and Country Dots, which have been winging their way to homes across the UK and further afield.
We always find it incredibly rewarding to hear your feedback and see photographs of our products in your homes. Thanks so much for your support.
As several Meg Morton customers have been asking about the design process, we wanted to shed more light about our new collections, and explain how our designs and colourways can be co-ordinated in your home.
First up is our beautiful Jhansi collection – one that’s particularly close to our hearts. This charming, artisan-style design was inspired by Vicky's other grandmother, Sister Barbara Burr, who nursed prisoners of war in India. While researching our family history, Vicky found an old invitation in a scrapbook, inviting Sister Barbara to dance the night away at the Jhansi Club – hence the name.
Jhansi fabrics are available in an eye-catching range of seven colourways, including the vibrant Indian Blue and striking Linden, plus a host of reverse colourways, which will complement your schemes seamlessly.
Keen to add a simple geometric design to our collection, we’ve created the soft and sophisticated Chalbury, which is available in two sizes. The large version is perfect for curtains, while the smaller version is ideal for Roman blinds, lampshades and home accessories. Chalbury teams well with many of our designs, such as our best-selling Hydrangea, Dragonfly and Cow Parsley fabrics.
The Chalbury Large is available in two colourways, while the smaller version is available in seven colourways, providing plenty of variety and scope. Smart and classic, Chalbury looks fabulous in either traditional or modern homes.
Inspired by the stars twinkling in the inky black skies above rural Dorset, we have designed Starlight and Starfall – a sparkling collection that features a combination of stars and spots.
These fabrics are the ideal way to inject a fun touch into a scheme and are particularly suitable for children’s bedrooms for curtains, blinds or accessories.
Starlight colourways are White on Vintage Pink and also the reverse, as well as White on Blue Shadow and White on Millstone.
Our equally striking Starfall can either stand alone as a fabric, or co-ordinate with Starlight to great effect. Starfall is available in five different colourways; the delicate Aurora, White on Vintage Pink and White on Millstone, as well as the punchier White on Blue Shadow and Midnight.
Having listened carefully to your requests, we also decided it was high time to launch a brand new range of spotty and dotty fabrics, and are so glad that we did.
Posh Spots and Country Dots are ideal as standalone fabrics, or to mix and match with our other Meg Morton collections.
Posh Spots is available in six colourways, from Flint on White, to French Raspberry on White, while Country Dots comes in seven colourways. Both are perfect for curtains, blinds and home accessories, such as Meg Morton lampshades, cushions and noticeboards.
So, as the days get even longer and brighter, it’s the ideal opportunity to refresh and update your home. Why not order some samples today and start planning your next scheme. We can’t wait to see your photographs!
