Country Bedroom Scheme

We thought we would share this pretty country bedroom scheme with you in case you have any decorating projects that you might be considering whilst we are all spending more time at home.

Your home is your sanctuary and is a reflection of your personality and style. It is somewhere you should all feel safe and relaxed which is so important especially at the moment. It is well worth spending a little time pulling your ideas together onto a mood board to review your chosen scheme as a whole and ensure it co-ordinates and remains cost effective depending on your budget.

Whether you are starting from scratch or revamping an existing room, the over whelming choices available can make it seem a daunting task. To get the ball rolling a great idea is to choose a favourite fabric design, painting or heirloom to begin with and build the mood board around.

For this country bedroom scheme we chose our stunning pastel pink hydrangea on mist as the starting point as we love all the soft hues which we can build around. Maggie initially hand painted this gorgeous design onto interior accessories. We love seeing this design now printed on to fabric and wallpaper here in the UK. It has become one of our most popular designs and is just perfect to include in this pretty bedroom scheme as little or as much as you would like depending on your budget and scale of room.

To compliment this lovely floral we have chosen our smart Dorset stripe vintage pink on mist linen which would look beautiful as stunning full length curtains. You could even add a bobble or fan trim to the leading edge to add movement and texture. There are so many pretty curtain heading styles too.

For the walls we would suggest our white dragonfly on millstone wallpaper which would look especially beautiful as a feature wall behind the bed. For the rest of the room Farrow & Ball slipper satin would keep the room light and airy. This lovely design adds interest without being over powering and maintains the soft country feel.

You could also use our dragonfly linen in the reverse colourway for additional accessories.

By keeping the main design elements soft the overall feel for this bedroom remains gentle and relaxed.

You can then add further layers of pattern and colour in the form of cushions to help complete the scheme. Our Jhansi linen in wild rose and woodland sage are perfect to compliment. The woodland sage colour being deeper in tone, contrast and helps pull the scheme together as well as picking up the green hues in the hydrangea linen. Both of these Jhansi fabrics are ideal as cushions to add a splash of colour.

For lighting, we would recommend using softer tones e.g plain vintage pink lampshades either side of the bed and maybe bring more pattern on a shade if its in a different area of the room to link the scheme together.

To complete your room, fresh flowers would add that special finishing touch as well as a throw or two to add more texture and warmth.

Vicky and I hope these ideas are helpful and if you would like any extra help putting schemes together using our Meg Morton fabric, wallpaper and accessories do get in touch. We have some amazing stockists all over the UK and would be delighted to put you in touch if you are interested in having curtains, Roman blinds or accessories made up. Advice can be given on how to measure up during the current situation.

Do stay safe and well everyone.

Best Wishes

Maggie and Vicky xx
