Vix and I have had great fun decorating our dining table and Christmas tree here at home for a festive photo shoot in true Meg Morton style!!
Who doesn’t love a beautifully decorated dining table and tree to make Christmas dining and entertaining that extra bit special for family and friends to create those precious memories.
We decided to choose our striking Highcliffe linen in Andelys red for a table runner and cosy cushions to compliment our existing Somerset stone Cowparsley curtains and Roman blinds.
Next, the centre of the table was layered with plenty of greenery, eucalyptus and berries collected from the garden, which helped add extra drama and a very luxurious look. We then placed twinkling string lights along the length of the table.
A festive table just has to have plenty of crystal and glass to reflect all that candlelight and to maximise this we made sure we had shimmering plates, silver decorations and cutlery. We added a homely touch with hand made fabric crackers in our soft green Pheasant linen. We also included home made shortbread stars using a special Scottish family recipe of my late Mum’s - Meg Morton who our design business is named after.
Please click here for the recipe. The shortbread is just delicious and so easy to make.
To complete our festive decor we added luxurious sheepskins to bench seating and chairs for added texture. We managed to find a perfect Nordic pine tree and decorated it to match in silver, red and white.
Vix and I hope this will give you a little inspiration to create your own special festive dining table this year to help celebrate and make those extra special memories with your family and friends.
We hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and thank you so much for following our journey and supporting us.
Best Wishes
Maggie and Vix xx
